Sometime in the first quarter of 2024 Americans will need a visa-type document for travel to EUROPE. The application will be quite simple on-line and is expected to cost under $10. Approval should be granted within hours, except when further inspection is warranted.
The visa is calle ETIAS and will be valid for multiple entries over three years or passport expiration.
Exact date of implementation has not been announced as of June 18, 2024. If you plan to stay longer than 90 days in Europe you need a different type of visa.
